A GIFT TO THE NEXT GENERATION – TEDx PRETORIA

As Africans, how can we represent in all spheres and change the narrative for the next generation? I share my journey to becoming the first black African woman to summit Mount Everest against all odds, as a vehicle to help drive this movement. Saray Khumalo is the first black African woman to summit Mt Everest. She is an award-winning mountaineer and business executive with over 18 years of experience in driving innovation and change in blue-chip organisations. Through mountaineering, she has raised over R1.3 million towards literacy and education in Africa. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
